The theme of the shoot was Farm to Table Wedding. Heather first created an inspiration board, then paired up with Angie Willson Photography and brought together the team of vendors including Brighter Day Floral Design, Frog Belly Farm and Lemon Sprinkle Events among others. For us, it was the relaxed and real environment of being on a working farm that inspired us most. We arrived at the farm and took a full tour including baby chicken hatchery, greenhouses, lovely rows of lilac bushes in full bloom and growing veggies that were part of their CSA (community supported agriculture). We gathered items from around the farm to use with our flowers like watering cans, lilacs and ropes. I brought my 5 year old son to see what farm life was like and he enjoyed every minute, but most of all - the animals. It was really fun to work with other talented vendors. I was so proud to see the final result - truly romantic, sweet and farm to table!
See all the photos and story here: http://www.stylemepretty.com/2011/07/15/inspiration-to-reality-farm-to-table-by-angie-wilson-photography-calluna-events/.
Make your holiday easier by following Brighter Day’s Christmas Tree decor tips. Trust us.... It will take a lot of the stress away.

Eight Tips for Christmas Tree Decorating

1. Re-cut your fresh tree and put it in water right immediately
Use a stand that has a large reservoir of water. Water your tree daily to keep it fresh through the season.

2. Plan a sensible order for your decor
When decorating a tree, start with the lights, then add garland, big ornaments, small ornaments and finally tinsel and a topper.

3. Start arranging Christmas tree lights on the branches near the base of the tree
Go from the bottom to the top and weave strings of lights along the branches "inside," then move to the outer edges of the branches.

4. Put shiny or glitter ornaments "inside" the tree to reflect the lights back out
Lighting and sparkle behind and under gives your tree depth and bling.

5. Trees with space between the branches are easier and more fun to decorate because they give more room for displaying ornaments
Colorado trees tend to have a sparser spread but are a natural and interesting look.

6. Using ribbon and bows can create fullness and add interesting lines and color to the tree
You can browse ribbon and decor selections at craft stores such as Michael’s or JoAnn Fabrics.

7. Mix trendy colors with traditional colors for a fun twist
This year try teal, rust, lime green or lavender with your red, gold, green or silver.

8. Go green and buy a fresh local tree
An artificial tree can be cost effective in the long run and easier to decorate, but a fresh tree holds tradition and smells great too. You can get fresh trees in many varieties, but spend your money at a local tree farm or importer such as Munson Farms at 75th and Valmont in Boulder, www.munsonfarms.com. Most of their trees are cut in Colorado for fire mitigation so it is good for the environment and longer lasting.
